Smashed Avocado

Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (approx. 2 limes)
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed
- 1 tablespoon minced and deseeded jalapeño
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Chili flakes, salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Scoop out the avocados into a mixing bowl and mash with a fork until desired consistency is reached (chunky or smooth).
- Add lime juice, garlic, jalapeño, cilantro and olive oil. Mix well to combine.
- Stir in smoked paprika, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately or cover with plastic wrap, pressing it directly against the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning.
Chef’s Tip
For a more complex flavor, let the guacamole sit for 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Want an extra layer of texture? Add some chopped toasted pumpkin seeds.
